A story from an Afghan Canadian: I want all Canadians to understand that their sacrifices were not in vain

"Nearly 40,000 Canadian soldiers served in Afghanistan, not only carrying out military missions, but also playing a vital role in rebuilding our communities. This effort resulted in significant, positive changes in the lives of millions of Afghans, myself included, as many gained access to education and opportunities that were once out of reach. They built schools, roads and dams, and provided essential humanitarian aid leaving a lasting legacy of hope and resilience."
